National Inter-County Team Championships
Swim England runs an Inter-County Team Event each year in October. the event attracts the best swimmers from across the country and all the English Counties and Welsh/Scottish regions are matched against each other. The are 2 divisions to the event and Gloucester County is currently in Division 2. A team is selected from the SE rankings to represent Gloucester County ASA. The Event is usually on a Sunday with the team travelling on the Saturday up to Sheffield and staying overnight.
Selection Criteria
Swimmers are selected based on their fastest official Long Course (50m) times recorded between 1 January and the end of Summer Nationals Meets in the competition year.
Short Course Conversions: Short Course (25m) times will be considered only if the converted Long Course equivalent time (using standard recognized conversion tables) is faster than the leading established Long Course times in that event.
Event Scheduling & Athlete Welfare: To manage fatigue and maximize overall team performance, if a swimmer ranks fastest in two consecutive events on the schedule (including relays), the County reserves the right to select the next highest-ranked swimmer for one of those events, provided their time is within a highly competitive margin (e.g., 0.5 seconds) of the top seed.
